This happy quilt was created for the Michael Miller Petal Pinwheels Challenge of The Modern Quilt Guild, however was not finished in time to enter the competition. This 47.5″ x 57.5″ geometric quilt was inspired by a parallelogram AccuQuilt Studio Die. The concentric squares quilting design was done with a walking foot and creates a secondary design element best viewed from the back of the quilt.
I entered Parallelo Pinwheels in the Tree City Quilt Guild (Gainesville, FL) Show (May, 2015). It won a second place ribbon in its category. This show never tells the winners in advance, so it is always a thrill to round the corner and see a ribbon on your quilt.
I am now entering Parallelo Pinwheels in the Blogger’s Quilt Festival – Spring 2015 in the Small Quilt Category. Make sure you head over to Amy’s Creative Side to view all the quilts and vote for your favs.
This certainly is a happy quilt! I’ve always liked the colors, the design, and the way your straight-line quilting perfectly enhances the movement of this quilt. Really nicely done, Lora! I hope you win!
Thank you Linda! I couldn’t possibly win against Flower Ball and your awesome FMQing.
What a fun design! I love the colors and the fabrics! Super cute!
I love the design of the quilt and would love to see the quilting on the back too, it looks brilliant!
